Meet our new sister - Anna! - Albany, GA
“I watched your program this past Sunday. It was the first time I had seen it. I NEED to be baptized!”
This was the message received via voicemail that came into The Gospel of Christ office about three weeks ago. Just one week after launching on the local CBS affiliate in Albany, GA , Anna saw the program, immediately called in and after a few return calls and conversations, she had spoken with Joey and Ben briefly and stressed her desire to be connected with a local church to be baptized!
In turn, I reached out to Charles Harris, the minister at one of our locally supporting congregations in Albany (Beattie Road church of Christ), connected Charles and Anna via conference call, and listened while they discussed plans to meet and study together.
After three in-person Bible studies and multiple visits to the assembly, Anna was baptized into Christ! What a beautiful opportunity for all of us to see the words of the Apostle Paul play out in action.
Friends, the “fields are white unto harvest.” There are many souls that we can reach still today with the opportunities that we have with television, internet, social media and so on. But we do need your help. Even though we have been able to streamline our non-broadcast operating expenses again this year, COVID-19 has been a strong hindrance in our efforts. Our field reps have not been able to meet with many congregations, and frankly, some congregations have actually shut their doors - hopefully only temporarily. As you can imagine, this certainly puts a strain on our joint efforts of “Taking the Whole Gospel to the Whole World” together (1 Cor 3:6-7).
