Can it really be 30 years!? - The Gospel of Christ

Wow! When we were ending the year in 2025, it “hit” us that the program had it’s official launching on June 16, 1996. That means that we are coming up on our 30th Anniversary in a few months!

I have been blessed to be able to work with the program for the past 8.5 years and time sure does move along, especially when you love what you do and it is so meaningful! I was having a chat with Ben about this recently and I asked if he knew the date of our first actual airing on broadcast television. He knew immediately the date as it was something that corresponded to another event for him and his family in 2003. So, from the early beginnings of an idea from young preachers to being one of the most watched religious programs within the churches of Christ in 2026, a lot has changed!

We wanted to share with you some of these things that we may not always think about sharing, so here are some wonderful thoughts and milestones for you.

We are now consistently broadcasting to over 200,000 actual households. Our reach is over 91 million, but these 200,000 households are a measurement of electronic statistics. These people have their television on at the time we are on (or recorded) on the channel we broadcast.

Our local markets are now over 80% “big” channels (ABC, CBS, NBC)

Our broadcast on Game Show Network is the ONLY religious broadcast they currently offer and they have just offered us a renewal contract meaning they are please with the results.

Our website still has over 5,000 pages with tens of thousands of visitors every month.

Our Social Media platforms have a culmination of hundreds of thousands of views each month.

Our network of supporting congregations is over 175.

We average sending 2-3 bible study requests to LOCAL congregations every week.

Our Free Media program is still growing but changing. Our digital platforms are gaining momentum as well as USB media while CDs and DVDs are beginning to phase out.

We have more presence in the field across more states now than ever before and we are looking to expand that soon as well.

What we do not know is how many precious souls have watched and used the program’s resources to further their spiritual journey that has resulted in salvation through baptism, restoration through repentance, or further education for teaching and preaching. That number could be hundreds this past year…or it may just be one precious soul and that is okay as well…and we always know that our labors are never in vain as we work together for the Lord. (1 Cor 3:6-7; 15:58)

While we internally celebrate this milestone, we ask that you would keep this effort in your prayers, tell others about the program, and share the need for continued financial support so that we can make a wonderful evangelism and outreach tool even better for many more years to come!

As a side note - Ben Bailey has been the driving force behind the program since its inception. We cannot thank him enough for his tireless and selfless efforts in the work of The Gospel of Christ. He is truly a wonderful servant of the Lord!
