Article - Your Thoughts Are NOT God’s Thoughts
The LORD truthfully stated in Isaiah 55:8, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways.” Consider the following thoughts that are contrary to God’s: (1) “You are not supposed to judge” versus “…judge with righteous judgment” (John 7:24); (2) “It is alright to have different interpretations of the Bible” versus “…be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment” (1 Corinthians 1:10); (3) “Salvation is by grace alone plus nothing; therefore, we do not contribute one whit to our salvation” versus “For by grace you have been saved THROUGH FAITH” and “…BE BAPTIZED, and WASH AWAY YOUR SINS” and “…as you have always OBEYED…WORK out your own salvation” (Ephesians 2:8; Acts 22:16; Philippians 2:12); (4) “Salvation is by faith only” versus “…justified by WORKS, and not by faith only” (James 2:24); (5) “Water baptism is not essential to be saved” versus “…in the days of Noah…eight souls were saved through water. There is also an antitype which now saves us – BAPTISM” (1 Peter 3:20-21); (6) “It is alright to live with each other without getting married” versus “Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed is undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge” (Hebrews 13:4). It is time for you to denounce your thoughts and feelings and submit to the mind and will of Christ (Philippians 2:5)!
