Article - Death: What Really Mattered? (part 1)

When your loved ones pass by to see your body lying in the casket, it will not matter if you were handsome/pretty or ugly, wealthy or poor, black or white, smart or uneducated, famous or a loner, a blue collar or white collar worker. There will be no true profit if you gained the whole world, but lost your soul (Matthew 16:26; Luke 9:23-25); for your God-designed life on this earth does not consist in the abundance of the things that you possessed (Luke 12:15-34; 1 Timothy 6:17). The only thing that really matters is if you were a child of God who was faithful to the Lord and His church (Matthew 4:10; 6:33; Galatians 6:10; Ephesians 2:10; 4:11-16; Colossians 3:24). Were you obedient to the will of God (Matthew 7:21-23; Acts 5:32; Romans 2:5-10; 6:16-17; Galatians 3:1; 5:7; Philippians 2:12; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Hebrews 5:8-9; 1 Peter 1:22; 4:17)? Were you pricked in the heart by the undeniable fact of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ to the point that when you heard the gospel, you believed it (Acts 2:37, Ephesians 1:13): that Jesus is the Son of God and that God raised Him from the dead (John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8)? Did you willingly confess verbally that Jesus is the Son of God (Romans 10:9-10, 17; 1 Timothy 6:12)? Did you repent of your sins and were you immersed into Christ so that Jesus’ blood would wash away your sins, resulting in you becoming a child of God (Mark 16:15-16; John 1:12-13; 3:3-5; Acts 2:38; 22:16; Galatians 3:26-27; Revelation 1:5)? If so, have you remained faithful as a Christian to the Lord (Revelation 2:7, 10-11, 17, 26-28; 3:5, 12, 21; 14:12-13)?
