The wages of sin..... - Joey Ferrell

Sin will always have consequences.

Sometimes the consequences are seen right away, sometimes it may take years.

Most times, the consequences will be of a personal nature, and personally related; however, many will also have innocent parties becoming a victim of circumstance.

Where one is in their spiritual maturity level (if they have one) will often determine how the consequences will affect them and those that are around them. Owning up to sin and asking for mercy and forgiveness would be the absolute mature and reasonable way to begin healing and possibly change the outcome of some of the consequences.

When we ignore our sin, celebrate our sin, or refuse to even acknowledge our sin, our spiritual lives begin to die. There is no reason whatsoever for that to happen. Paul said "the wages of sin is death..." But...he doesn't end there. Please read the entire verse before you discount that you can never find healing and forgiveness...

Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Even in the worst of consequences...there can still be a light guiding your way.

Do you need help? Emotional or spiritual help? Do you need forgiveness? Do you need someone to hold your hand and walk with you through the trials of life? There are many that will and can do this. We should all want one another to get to heaven, and living the best life that God has offered us here...and in eternity.

Circumstances change. Consequences can be repaired. Sin can be forgiven. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise...and don't give up!

2022 has begun! We have already been visiting a lot of congregations, and hoping for many more!

If your congregation has not had a visit in a while, you may be amazed at what all we have going on. We are increasing our local broadcast footprint nearly every week for a few more weeks and now have over 3 dozen local markets (many in major markets) as well as our offering on FETV.

The Freed Hardeman Lectureship is February 6-10. Joey will be there with a brand new advertising booth! Stop by if you are at the lectureship and pick up a dvd or two and chat with us about how the work at The Gospel of Christ is growing!
