A WORD OF EXPLANATION ABOUT WHY THIS NEWSLETTER
MAY BE "SUDDENLY REAPPEARING" IN YOUR EMAIL IN-BOX
Technology is a wonderful thing—when it works correctly! We, however, recently experienced some "technological issues" with our bi-weekly email newsletter list that reminded us of what can go wrong when technology does not work properly. Please allow us to explain (also, please pardon some of the "geek speak," which we feel is necessary in order to explain what happened).
The company that provides the server where our Website is housed recently moved the site from one server to another new server (as they performed basic maintenance and upgraded hardware at their end). To make a long story short, when they did that they failed to incorporate on the new server what is known as a "reverse DNS" for our IP address. The Reverse DNS setting is used to authenticate the origin of email (since it connects the domain name with the IP address). Without this process taking place, the origin of emails can appear uncertain—meaning that emails may be interpreted as coming from a spammer. In the case of many email post offices, a reverse DNS is required, and if one is not present, the email eventually is returned to the sender marked as "UNDELIVERED." Some email post offices even keep count of how many emails originate from an IP address that does not have a reverse DNS, and once the count reaches a pre-set number, then all future email from that sender is marked as undeliverable.
Recently when TGOC suddenly began receiving large, unexplained numbers of returned emails, we realized that something was amiss. Upon contacting the company that hosts our server, we (and they) discovered what had happened. But by the time we were able to track down and repair the problem, thousands of emails had bounced back to us. When emails are returned to us as "undeliverable," we quickly remove them from our regular mailing list—which is exactly what we did with over 4000 emails addresses. Now, however, we have come to realize that most of the addresses we deleted from our mailing list probably did not need to be removed.
We therefore have added those 4,000+ email addresses back into our mailing list—which means that all of a sudden TGOC's newsletter will be back in many email in-boxes where it has been "missing" for the past several months. We wanted to explain to you why that is occurring, and what happened to cause it in the first place.
TGOC DOES NOT SPAM—EVER! People are added to our mailing list only if they make such a request through our online subscribe page, sign a request form at one of our displays, or if they use the online media-request form to request free media. We also provide a link in every newsletter for those who wish to unsubscribe. Every request to be removed is honored before the next newsletter is sent out. Also, every address from individuals who request to be removed from our mailing list is placed into a separate list, and before every newsletter mailing the addresses on that list are compared to our mailing list to ensure that those people who have requested to be removed have not somehow been accidentally placed back on the mailing list. We work very hard not to send our newsletter to those people who, for whatever reason, do not wish to receive it. If someone does receive it, but does not wish to, they always have an option to unsubscribe. [If a person asks to be removed, but then decides that he wishes to begin receiving the newsletter again, all he has to do is email the Webmaster and ask to be placed back on the mailing list.]
If this newsletter arrives in your in-box, and you do NOT want to receive it, please accept our apology. The only reason that has occurred in this instance is because of the technical difficulties we experienced recently when our Website was moved from one server to another by the site's hosting company. If you do not wish to continue receiving the newsletter, simply click the unsubscribe link at the end of the newsletter, and we will immediately remove you from our list. We apologize for any inconvenience the change in servers at our end may have caused you.

ABOUT TGOC'S FUTURE TELEVISION PROGRAMS?
Quite often we receive requests from people who want to know the titles of our future television programs so that they can include those titles in their church bulletins and/or public announcements. We certainly appreciate such interest in our work, and want to do everything we can to comply with such requests.
To that end, we are planning on sending out an email sometime around the middle of each month that contains the specific titles for the following month's programs. Our goal is to provide this information for use by church secretaries, bulletin editors, those who make public announcements at church assemblies, and anyone else who might be able to use it in order to spread the news about TGOC's programing.

While we are discussing such issues, we would like to take the opportunity to once again remind you about our online "Press Room" (www.thegospelofchrist.com/pressroom.html), where you will find various sizes and styles of TGOC-related logos that can be used to advertise TGOC in church bulletins or newspapers, on Websites, and elsewhere. It would be a great idea to put TGOC's logo next to the broadcast schedule in your church bulletin. You also will find several different paragraphs of text (covering most aspects of our work) that can be copied and pasted into bulletins or onto Websites to accompany the various logos that we are making available.

We do not necessarily expect any of our videos to become “viral” (a term used for those top videos that are watched millions of times), but the more activity our videos receive, the greater the likelihood will be that word will spread throughout both the Tangle and YouTube communities about the important, life-changing message that the videos are offering.
As time allows, we plan to produce additional short videos, which we will announce in our bi-weekly newsletter as well as on the home page of our Website.
